The Dog Eats a Pancake: The Sestina
After my success with AI writing a sonnet about a dog eating a pancake, I thought maybe I’d try something really challenging: a sestina!
Sestinas have a very specific structure and formula. I don’t think AI quite mastered it – but it’s pretty darn close enough and actually a very cool poem.
The dog's tail wags as he eats his pancakes, A treat he's been waiting for all day. He licks his lips and dives in with glee, His eyes wide with anticipation, Awaiting the sweet taste of the syrup. The syrup drips down his chin as he eats, His tongue lapping up every drop. He savors the flavor of the pancakes, A treat he's been waiting for all day. His tail wags in delight as he dives in, His eyes wide with anticipation. He takes a break to catch his breath, His tongue still tasting the syrup. He looks around with a satisfied grin, His tail wagging as he eats his pancakes. He can't help but smile with glee, Awaiting the sweet taste of the syrup. He takes a bite and closes his eyes, His tail wagging in pure joy. He savors the flavor of the pancakes, His tongue lapping up every drop of syrup. He can't help but smile with glee, Awaiting the sweet taste of the syrup. The dog's tail wags as he finishes his pancakes, His eyes wide with anticipation. He licks his lips and dives in with glee, His tongue still tasting the syrup. A treat he's been waiting for all day, Awaiting the sweet taste of the syrup.
